James Burton was already a legendary guitarist who’d worked with everyone from Ricky Nelson to Frank Sinatra when he got a call from Elvis in 1969. Elvis was making a huge comeback and wanted him to help him form a Vegas band. He played with Elvis for the rest of his life. Terry Blackwood and The Imperials were Elvis’ gospel back-up group.
